Around 50 Husky, Samoyed and Malamut sleddogs, accompanied by their owners and trainers, took part in a dog sled sprint race, organized on the last weekend of January in Baile Tusnad.

Most of the 21 participating teams where from Harghita and Covasna counties, but there where also teams from Arad and Bucuresti.  The two-dog teams had to run a 4 km distance, while the six- and eight-dog teams ran an 8 km distance.

Despite the low temperatures, a big crow had gathered to watch and encourage the racers.

There where 4 categories of prizes. Not only the owners where awarded in the winning teams, but also the dogs. The youngest competitor, a 12 year old boy, had received a special award.

This was the second edition of the Baile Tusnad Sled Dog Race. The organizers, the For Fun Association, the Green Zone Association and the Aktivity Association, have already promised that they will organize the event next year as well.

 Apemin Tusnad was one of the main sponsors of the event.
